One final mistake (hopefully)
UPDATE 8:02 p.m.
The obsolete language was removed in a revised posting, but several of the other deficiencies remain (items 4, 6(b), 7). It's better, but not quite there yet.
Okay, seriously this time. Last mistake (hopefully) by soon-to-be former speaker Priscilla Acosta.
In what can only be described as either a gross violation of the law, or Priscilla being the only one with website access to make the post, Madame Speaker Acosta has drafted and posted the agenda for the first meeting of the 77th Senate, and she has done a less than stellar job at it (i.e. sloppy). The agenda is embedded below.
ASUN Senate Agenda for April 15, 2009
Notice how, in the first paragraph, it contains obsolete language from last year. Also notice how item 4 makes no mention that ASUN Public Law 75-49 has been amended (non-senators are not allowed to be nominated for speaker anymore). Further, item 6(b) has been cut off. Item 7 is just wrong. Basically, this is a poorly drafted agenda and should be corrected immediately.
And yes, we have a suggested replacement.
Below is a better version of the agenda.
ASUN Senate Agenda for April 15, 2009 (correct)
We have transmitted the "correct" one to the Secretary, whose duty it is to draft the agenda for, and run, the first meeting ("The Secretary shall prepare the agenda..." (ASUN Public Law 75-49, section 4(a))). We also transmitted it to almost former speaker Acosta. Question: Why did Priscilla do this?
Finally, does anybody review these public documents before they get posted, because it didn't take long to find some errors?
